Dear Parents,

We have been in session now, nearly a month. Your kids are doing a really good job of trying their best at getting an education and doing everything we ask. We are proud of them and know you all are.

We are dealing with vandalism in the building, both classrooms and restrooms, at a level that we have never experienced before. From the information we have and discussing this problem with other schools, TikTok is the Social Media site that is the motivator for this behavior. We are asking for your help in this. Please have discussions with your children about what is happening here. The majority of kids are not involved. They are angry about the childish behavior of some. Encourage them to talk about this problem with you. They can, anonymously, be our “eyes and ears”. We have been able to find some who are responsible, we are using the strongest consequences we have available both in school and in the courts.

Good things are happening. Homecoming week is next week. Everyday something special is planned. Monday is “Hat Day”. Every day has a different theme. The Homecoming Parade is scheduled to leave the parking lot at Millett, 6:15 Thursday evening and continue uptown.  Friday night is the Homecoming game  and then Saturday night the dance here at the school. The dance is outside in the stadium area, starts at 7:00pm and wraps up at 10:00pm.

Thank you all for your support, especially in these unprecedented times. We hope everyone stays safe and well.

Tom York

Principal, Talawanda high School

  • Drama Classroom Information:

If you are interested in being a part of the Drama Program, or interested in finding out more about it, please feel free to join the Google Classroom with the code below.

Joining the classroom does not mean you are expected to participate in anything in particular.  It is merely a place to see what is happening and to decide if there is something you would like to participate in.  If you decide later you would like to to be removed from the classroom, just send me an email and I can drop you off the site.  mortimorem@talawanda.org

There will be a google form in the classroom that I ask you to fill out.  This just lets me know who you are and what your experiences and interests are, and what you hope your theatre program can offer you.  Again, this is not required; it is there for me to get to know you and hopefully help make your theatre experience here at THS positive and productive.

The code for the classroom  is:

Qjtdktw

I look forward to seeing you on the site!  Melanie Mortimore, Drama Director

  • Talawanda High School has partnered with Torch Prep, an innovative test prep program, to offer our students a free practice ACT test.  This test will be given on November 6th from 8am-12pm at THS.  Please go here to register.  Cost is $7.
