Marshall is hosting a Family Reading Event for all our students and families.  This will take place during our Right to Read week at the end of March.  Reservation forms went home today but you can also register by completing clicking on this form.  https://goo.gl/forms/BHdhUFmdK4YBEMT32

We would like to get a general idea of the number attending so we can plan accordingly.

Elementary Report Card Survey

When new state standard were released, the Talawanda School District began the process of transitioning to a new standards-based report card at the elementary school level.  The change occurred during the 2014-2015 school year and included new standards, new marks, and separate process standards for behaviors.  From 2014 to 2017, marks were reported for broad categories of the new standards.  This year, we began reporting marks for each of the specific essential standards.  Please take a moment to complete this short survey as we continue to evaluate our communication of student learning.  Parent Report Card Survey

Kindergarten registration is right around the corner.  We have put together some information on the Talawanda website.  Talawanda is happy to announce that there will be no charge for full day kindergarten starting for the 2018-19 school year.  Please look for additional information regarding scheduling a registration/screening appointment in future E-news.

The Talawanda Board of Education is pleased to announce that they have hired Ed Theroux as the new Superintendent of Talawanda School District.  Mr. Theroux will officially begin his new role with the Talawanda on August 1, 2018.  He comes to the district with a vast set of experiences in education, and has specific experiences that uniquely qualify him for the lead role in Talawanda.  Mr. Theroux has most recently served as the Manager of Disability Education & Special Education Supervisor for The Great Oaks Career Center, and before that served as the Assistant Superintendent/Interim Superintendent for Princeton Schools.  He has expertise in curriculum development, oversight for a large school construction project, and successful collaborations with a diverse group of organizations and stakeholders.  Please join the Talawanda Board of Education and the Talawanda Leadership Team in welcoming Mr. Theroux to the community and to the Talawanda School District!
