School News and Information

This was a somber week for the Talawanda Community as we mourn the loss of a staff member and coach, Tim Reed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with everyone who knew Tim.

Dr. Theroux shared information about cold/flu season in December.  Please use this link to review his letter.

Health and Wellness Coordinator, Amy Macechko shared the following information:

Please see the attached information regarding the Spring 2019 Parent Project and Why Try series to be held for Talawanda families.  This is a great resource in supporting families in working with your children at home. Parent Project  Classes start on March 7th.  Thank you for your support!

As the weather gets cooler, please remember to send your child to school with the proper clothing (hats, gloves, coats, sweatshirts, etc.).  If you need assistance with any items, please contact us. We will be happy to assist you. You can call the Marshall office at: 513-273-3600

On a personal note.  I continue to address the growth on my vocal cord.  I had surgery again in December and as part of that biopsy, the doctor did not like how the cells were changing.  Before the cells change any further, become cancerous, and spread, it was decided to begin daily radiation treatments which started December 26th.  These take place each morning and I am little more than halfway done but that also means the side effects are beginning to show - fatigue, sore throat, and loss of voice.  During the next few weeks, I will be in as much as I can. During this time Mr. Tom Alf will be in the building to address the daily needs where more verbal communication is needed and until such time that the side effects subside. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.  If you need to reach me directly, email will be best.

Thanks again,

Mr. Hinton
