What is the PTG?

The Parent Teacher Group  is composed of parents/ caregivers, teachers and community volunteers, who donate their time and efforts to enrich each Kramer student’s experience.  We support Kramer Elementary school by organizing volunteering and fundraising.  You do not need to pay dues or attend meetings.  Simply tune-in to PTG communications to find the volunteer and fundraising opportunities that are right for you.

Find Volunteer Opportunities

Find out about upcoming PTG events and volunteer activities in the Kramer E-News, an email newsletter sent out Fridays from Talawanda SD Communications Officer Holli Hansel and Kramer Principal Jason Merz.  (If you do not receive Kramer E-News, ensure your email is correct using Final Forms, or in the Kramer Office).  You can also sign up for direct PTG communications by submitting the form linked here:

Volunteer Opportunities During the School Day

The RAH (Reading at Home) Program for Kindergarten, First and Second grades encourages kids to read with family and friends at home each week.  Every Wednesday morning 3-4 volunteers are needed to collect reading sheets & distribute prizes.  *This opportunity can be done with younger siblings in tow.

PICTURE DAY in the fall and spring needs volunteers to help direct students through the photographer lines and keep the lines moving and organized.

The HOLIDAY SHOP is for students to visit in the days before winter break.  The shop is stocked with $2 items for students to purchase as gifts for family and friends.  Volunteers are needed to help set up, guide student shoppers, and work the cash register.

Special Events

KRAMER CARNIVAL:  September 30, 2023 (12pm-3pm).  Kramer’s Fall Carnival is a great community-building fundraiser with games, a cake walk, a raffle, and more.

Volunteer opportunities include:  planning committee, set-up/clean-up, carnival day operations, silent auction, and/or bake for the cake walk and pie auction.

MOTHER-SON DANCE: January, date TBD is an evening event that complements the parks department’s Father-Daughter Dance.  Volunteers are needed to help organize and plan the event, setting up, serving drinks and snacks, and cleanup is needed. Event is held in Kramer Cafeteria.

VIP BREAKFAST: Late April or Early May 2024, Dates TBD  VIP Breakfast is an opportunity for students to invite their caregivers in to enjoy a simple shared breakfast in the cafeteria before the start of school.  Volunteers are needed to set up tables, basic prep food being served (ex. slice watermelons), help serve attendees, and help clean up afterwards.

Fundraising

The KRAMER MILE, May 2024, Date TBD is our largest fundraiser.  In May all Kramer students participate in a run/walk from Kramer to Millett Hall.  We encourage ALL families to create and share their student’s pledge page to help raise funds for PTG and Kramer.

RESTAURANT NIGHTS and FUNDRAISER SALES We partner with some of our local restaurants, as well as local companies to fundraise.

Support the PTG’s work when you shop!  By participating in KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS, BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION, and MARKET DAY you will raise money for the PTG every time you shop.  More information on these programs and how to signup will be posted in the PTG Facebook group and be sent home in Friday folders.

At Home

THANK YOU CARD COMMITTEE.  This group writes thank you cards to PTG donors and sponsors from the comfort and convenience of their own homes.
