School News and Information
It was an absolute delight to welcome our kindergarten and 1st-grade students back to school. Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and they have been doing an exceptional job getting acquainted with the rules, routines, and procedures that make our school a safe and nurturing environment for learning.
Our older students, from 2nd grade through 5th grade, have dived right into engaging lessons and activities. We are thrilled to see them starting the school year on the right foot, eager to explore new concepts and take on exciting challenges. The classrooms are buzzing with curiosity and creativity, and witness the great learning taking place.
As we look ahead, please take note of the following important dates:
Friday, September 1, 2023: No school for students (Professional Development Day)
Monday, September 4, 2023: No school for students (Labor Day)
Tuesday, September 5, 2023: No school for students (Data Day)
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
I shared this information earlier this week. We continue to work with the Oxford Police Department to keep vehicles off the street and to get the students loaded quickly and safely. We will continue to adjust and modify our procedures.
As we settle into the new school year, I want to take a moment to address a critical matter that affects us all: the traffic congestion during pick-up and drop-off times. Ensuring the safety and efficiency of our school's traffic flow is a responsibility we all share as a community, and your cooperation is vital in achieving this goal.
To address this concern, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of adhering to traffic guidelines and using common sense during pick-up and drop-off times. Here are a few key points to keep in mind:
Keep Intersections and Driveways Clear: Please ensure that you do not block intersections or driveways when dropping off or picking up your child. Blocking these areas disrupts the flow of traffic and can lead to safety hazards.
Follow Traffic Rules: Obey all traffic rules and regulations around our school premises. This includes respecting speed limits, yielding to pedestrians, and using designated drop-off and pick-up zones.
Plan Ahead: If possible, consider carpooling or arranging for alternative transportation options with other parents. Fewer vehicles on the road will help reduce congestion.
Be Patient and Courteous: Remember that we're all in this together, and a little patience and courtesy go a long way in ensuring a safe and pleasant drop-off and pick-up experience for everyone. All staff members are working hard to ensure drop off/dismissal is as safe and efficient as possible
By working together and following these guidelines, we can significantly improve the traffic situation around our school. The safety of our students is our top priority, and your cooperation is essential in achieving this goal.
Thank you to everyone for working together and getting the students in and out of Kramer safely.
