Kramer- E-news 3/8/19

Thank you to conference meal coordinator, Tina Bidwell for setting and picking up food for conference night.  Thank you to all of the families that donated items. The staff at Kramer appreciates your generosity.

Art news from Mrs. McWilliams:
Once again we are doing the Audubon Art Show at Kramer, I think this is our 4th year!

I will bring all artwork to the OCAC for the art show, because I want to mat and label it.  All students who enter get a ribbon, certificate, and gift bag with some small art supply inside, like pencils or markers or paint.  Students can enter, even if they can't attend the art reception. The art show will be up the weekend of Mar. 30-April 1, and the reception is on March 30th, 10-5.

This year I am requiring all students grades 1-5 to fill out a self-assessment sheet.  If they can't fill it out, they can have me or a parent/caregiver help them. They are not due until Mar. 18th, but I want to get them by Mar. 15 so that I can mat them.  I am doing this early so that I have time. All students are invited to enter, but the drawings/paintings must show effort and completion, they should be show-worthy!

Spring Gifted Testing

The Ohio Department of Education requires all school districts to offer two opportunities per year to parents/guardians to have their student assessed for possible gifted identification. All referrals for the Gifted Testing must be done using the electronic form linked below.  Phone calls to buildings or the Gifted staff will be referred to this form. We ask that parents understand that we have to schedule rooms, proctors, materials, etc. and that the earlier a parent/guardian requests testing using this form, the better it is for everyone.

Please note - formal gifted services do not begin until 3rd grade.   All second graders are assessed for gifted services in the spring. Spring Testing requests are due by midnight on March 31st. Referrals after March 31st will be placed on a list for the next testing round in the fall.  Talawanda provides parents/guardians with written notification of any assessment results within 30 days of receiving those results.
