School News and Information
Thank you to everyone for being flexible this week with our delays and closing. It was a cold and snowy week. Next week looks warmer.
The weather is turning colder next week. Please make sure you send your student with hats, gloves, coats, etc. If you need assistance with any items, please don’t hesitate to contact the office and speak to the social worker or principal.
Winter Weather Season- Holli Hansel
Please remember some important information about school delays and closings available on our district website-
Inclement Weather Guidelines & Communications:
Once winter weather predictions are announced by the National Weather Service, school officials monitor multiple forecasting tools, travel the roads, and check the actual conditions. Local officials and ODOT provide great service in clearing and maintaining our county roads and community streets.
When inclement weather is a strong possibility or reality, one of three decisions will be made by the school administration: either we will be on a 2-hour delay, dismiss early, or we will be closed. No announcement means "school as usual.
When a 2-hour delay is issued, AM Preschool will be canceled for that day.
When possible, we will attempt to make the decision to delay or close school by 9:15 pm, the evening prior to the affected day. Multiple modes of communication are used to notify our students, parents, and staff (Please note, sometimes weather patterns change overnight, and decisions are made in the early morning hours or may need to be adjusted as weather changes).
If we need to make the decision to delay or cancel school after 10:00 pm, communications will be issued no earlier than 5:00 am.
School offices are closed on days school has been canceled for inclement weather.
Talawanda Athletic events will be determined by the Athletic Director depending on changes in weather throughout the day or evening when events are scheduled. Individual coaches will notify their teams.
*Extreme Cold- Talawanda Schools may close on days when the temperature and/or wind chill factor are dangerous. When a wind/chill/temperature advisory and or warning is issued for our area, TSD may delay or close school.

Kramer PTG Information
We wanted to give everyone a heads-up that there will be several PTG board member positions that need to be filled next year.
The State of Ohio has changed the requirements. School employees are no longer allowed to serve on PTG boards. We currently have two teachers in board positions. Two parents are also leaving Kramer & will need to be replaced. This means we will need to replace at least 4 board members.
Elections will occur at the last board meeting in April. If approved, we already have our new treasurer, Jen Reed.
If you have questions about serving on the board & what it entails, please reach out to a current board member, KramerPTG@gmail.com, or attend our next meeting in February. We have been very fortunate over the years to have fantastic participation in the PTG & been able to provide great opportunities for the students & help the teachers with classroom materials. We are hoping to see that continue with a new board & active parent & teacher volunteers.
Kramer PTG Mother/Son Dance
Please join us on Saturday, January 27th from 6-8 PM at Kramer Elementary for our Mother-Son dance! It's your chance to spend time with your little dude and show off your dance moves. Tickets are $20.00 per pair (adult & child) and $5.00 for each additional ticket.
Please complete and return the order form by TUESDAY, JANUARY 23RD. Tickets will be sent home in the Friday folders on Friday, January 26th. Any tickets ordered after January 23rd or for non-Kramer attendees will be available at will call.
Watch Out for Buses
As a reminder, we greatly appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the safety of our students and drivers during pick-up times at the preschool. When picking up your children, kindly refrain from driving around the buses parked along the curb. Please utilize the designated parking lanes within the lot and avoid passing buses.
Your adherence to these guidelines significantly contributes to a safer environment for everyone involved. Thank you for your understanding and continued support in prioritizing the safety of our students and staff.
If you have a child that is in grades K-5, please do not drop them off at the front of school before the school day begins. You can park in the parking lot and walk them down to wait outside the main entrance or use the vehicle line at the back of the school.
Please do not drive around the buses when they are parked along the curb at Kramer.
