CDC Transportation Mask Mandate

Posted on: August 10, 2021

Federal Law Requires Masks to be Worn on All School Buses

All students and staff (PreK-12) are required to wear masks on all Talawanda transportation vehicles per CDC guidelines and under federal law. See CDC Guidelines here

PreK-5 students will need to wear masks at school and at extracurricular activities.  The Board of Education will continue to monitor COVID related issues, and will continue to discuss and or set policy as needed or directed by health officials.

Grades 6-12 students will not be mandated to wear masks, however health officials strongly encourage individuals who are not vaccinated to wear masks.  It is possible that this could change, as COVID spread increases and local government and health officials respond to the spread of the virus.

The district will continue to follow all health and safety guidelines as outlined in the district’s pandemic plan, and as directed by the Butler County Health Department (BCHD).  The CDC and the BCHD strongly recommend seeking the COVID vaccine.
