Preschool Opportunities Housed In Talawanda Schools
The district has become aware of some concerns regarding preschool opportunities housed in Talawanda School District, and would like to take this opportunity to provide the facts and clear up any misinformation.
- During the 2019-2020 school year Talawanda will continue to offer AM & PM preschool opportunities housed in our 3 elementary buildings. There will be an addition of one full-day preschool opportunity that will open in Bogan Elementary, and this will be the first time a full-day option has been available. This change will offer up to 16 additional preschool spots.
- One goal of a full-day preschool opportunity is to provide MORE services to those students who really need additional support.
- Beginning in 2020-2021 the Butler County Educational Service Center (BCESC)/Headstart Preschool Programs will become full-day programs. Headstart programs are federal programs and tied to federal mandates and funding. Talawanda is under contract with the BCESC for the 2019-2020 school year.
- The Talawanda Administration is aware of the coming changes as well as community concerns and has a team working on potential solutions for the future.
