Transportation & Sub-Driver Shortages Update

2024-TSD Transportation & Sub-Driver Shortages:

Petermann Transportation has alerted the district to some issues in regard to a shortage of substitute drivers that will impact transportation in the coming weeks.

As we approach the winter weather season, and or experience absences due to illness/medical leave the district may have to cancel some routes, and or combine some bus routes in the future.  Petermann has several drivers in training now, so we do hope that any issues that arise will be temporary.

The district is aware that there will be a need to alter one bus route this week.  The bus route will be divided between two other buses/routes.  We know that this will likely change the pick-up and drop-off times for students on those 2 bus routes.  The specific families impacted will be contacted as soon as the information can be generated by the transportation office.

The district will provide as much information and advance notice as possible, but please know that with a serious shortage of substitutes, there may be little time to warn families ahead of time.  The district regrets any inconvenience this may cause, however TSD is working with Petermann to try and ensure that canceling of routes is a very last resort.
