BOE will meet for a brief meeting on 4/2/20

Posted on: March 31, 2020
On Thursday April 2, 2020 the district will host a very brief Board of Education meeting in which the board has an opportunity to take action on the agenda item below.  Public participation will also be permitted on Thursday.  Social distancing will be enforced.  This action  will allow the board to conduct their business and future meetings in a way that is permitted by Governor DeWine that will reduce the risk of spreading illness during these very unprecedented times.eport of the Superintendent

The Board would like to get plans and measures in place so that the April 20th meeting (the regularly scheduled monthly meeting) will be accessible to the public and include features to allow for the public participation portion of the meeting to take place as usual.  We will be sharing detailed instructions after the board has their meeting this Thursday.  At this time, Superintendent Theroux is not scheduling presentations that involve staff and students due to school closings in Ohio.  Our greatest priority is always the safety and well being of our students, staff, and community, but we also understand that it's important during this time to find safe and creative ways to conduct education and allow the board to continue with their policy work.

We are fortunate to have people working in Talawanda that will be able to assist with this.  Meetings will be made accessible to the public in real time, and the videos of the meetings will be available via a district youtube channel after the close of the meetings.  In addition, we will allow some community members that may not be able to access the meetings online to view the meeting on a screen in our THS auditorium.  These visitors will be required to follow the safety guidelines as issued by the CDC and the state of Ohio, and will sit an appropriate and safe social distance apart to prevent the spread of illness.
