School News and Information

We had a great week back!  Lots of learning is happening all over Bogan! Hopefully everyone enjoyed their spring break.

There is no school for students on April 8, 2024, for the solar eclipse.  Our teaching and learning director, Mrs. Gregg has eclipse glasses for all students. Those have been coming home this week..  Students can use them for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Please remember that there is no school on April 8, 2024.  Students return on Tuesday, April 9th.

Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (S-EBT)

Ohio is a participating state in this new summer cash benefit program.  Children certified for free and/or reduced meals in the 2023-2024 school year, or otherwise participating in SNAP, Ohio Works First, or who meet the income criteria for free or reduced meals within the Medicaid program qualify for this summer program.

If you would like to participate in the S-EBT program, your child must have a free and reduced form approved/certified (online at Payschools or paper application turned in at your child's school) by the last day of school to receive a payment from the State of Ohio.

If you have any questions you may call the Treasurer's Office at 513-273-3100.

Updated COVID Information- Mrs. Fangman- District Nurse

The CDC recently changed its guidance regarding Covid information and protocols. The district is taking this opportunity to share with you the updated COVID information and policy. We continue to prioritize the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff. We must work together to minimize the spread of illness within our school community.

Please follow your healthcare provider's advice regarding when to stay home with illness, and when your student may return to school following a COVID diagnosis.

Your child’s symptoms must improve and the child must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications. This helps prevent the spread of illness/Covid.

We collaborate closely with local health authorities to stay updated on COVID activity in our area and follow any additional recommendations or guidelines they provide.

The district appreciates your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a healthy learning environment for all students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Final Forms Update and Reminder

TSD will prompt parents in the first week of August to begin updating their child's school forms for the 2024-25 school year.  We know sometimes parents begin doing this early, but it's important to wait for the prompt from the district, as some forms will be changing for next school year.  The updates will be made in July after all of the summer programs are completed.

Health and Wellness News- Mrs. Machecko

Talawanda School District received a grant from Interact for Health to provide education and support to both students and families on the topic of e-cigarettes/vaping.  This video, "Caring Adults Tackling Youth Vaping", is meant for any and all caring adults who want to learn more about this health issue and the vital role that adults can play by having conversations with the young people in their lives.  Following the video, please consider taking a brief survey with a chance to win a gift card for your participation.
