Illness Protocol & Backup Plans- Ms. Hansel

TSD Families:

Thank you to our staff for their commitment to the district, our schools, and our students as we have been working through issues with seasonal illness and the sub shortages we still face in our community and county.  We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to continue to pitch in and cover in all areas.

Thank you to our parents/families for your continued patience, flexibility, and support.

We just want to remind everyone that the cold/flu season is not over yet.  We anticipate that we will continue to experience shortages with subs as we work our way through this.  Please continue to have a backup plan for the possibility that we may need to close bus routes temporarily, we may have to combine classes, close grade levels, or even schools on occasion due to the severe shortage of subs.

Please remember to continue with all of the health and safety measures as we continue to navigate a post-pandemic world.  Hand washing is a simple strategy and very effective to ward off illness and the spread of illness.  If your child becomes sick, please keep them home.  This will help us all to reduce the spread of illness.

Yearbook Orders

We are now taking yearbook orders for this year.  The deadline is March 30, 2023.  The cost is $15.

Please call the school office at the school located within your attendance area to register your child.  If you are unsure of which school attendance area you live in, please call Petermann Transportation @ (513) 273-3150 for verification on which school your child will attend.

Girls on the Run (GOTR)

Bogan has brought back the Girls on the Run program for girls in grades 3 - 5!  This is more than a running program, at GOTR we focus on unleashing confidence and kindness in all girls. The online registration has reopened on a first come first serve basis and will remain open through March 1st (or until the team fills, we have 6 more spots available)  Click HERE for more details.

Dismissal Changes-reminder

Student dismissal changes should be communicated with the classroom teacher.  If there is a last minute/day of dismissal change for your student(s), calls need to be made to the office prior to 3:30 (MTRF) and 2:45 (W).  Changes after these times can not be allowed.

Bogan Library

Our Bogan library collection has been packed out and is undergoing treatment to make sure there is no water damage from our Christmas day pipe break.  The books will be out of the building for a few weeks and then will be returned.  Mrs. Dallman has arranged for books for our students in the meantime.  Thanks so much to everyone who has reached out.  We really appreciate it!

Colder weather--don’t forget those coats and jackets!

If you need assistance with warmer clothing items (hats, gloves, coats), please reach out to Bogan social worker, Mrs. Franks or Mrs. Merz.  We will be happy to assist you.

Also, please mark your child's names in their items.  We have a number of jackets, sweatshirts, hats and gloves in the lost and found.  If your child is missing some items, please have them check the lost and found outside the music room.  We have quite a collection of coats, hats, etc right now!

Contacting Legislators

For those of you that attended PTG on Tuesday evening, I talked about contacting state legislators and the governor about school funding.  Holli Hansel has placed the information on the TSD website.  Please consider taking a few minutes to advocate for fair school funding for Ohio.  The state of Ohio's funding for public schools has been found unconstitutional multiple times.  I will be reaching out to our legislators and please consider taking a few moments to do the same.

Please consider writing to our Ohio Board of Education, and other state leaders and elected officials.  Check out the talking points and letters we've shared on our district website.
