Mrs. Kelly Spivey earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Miami University, her master’s degree from Xavier University, and post master's work at Miami University and Xavier University.
She has passionately served 31 years in the education field where she taught elementary grades for seven years, served as an administrator in Sycamore Community Schools and Hamilton City School District. In 2003, Mrs. Spivey became the Assistant Superintendent of the Talawanda School District where her responsibilities included Curriculum and Instruction and Personnel.
In 2011, the Board of Education named Mrs. Spivey as the Superintendent of the Talawanda School District. As Superintendent, her goal is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to experience a successful and quality education.
Mrs. Spivey has led the Talawanda School District in a Five Year Strategic Plan with an emphasis on “Empowering Every Learner Every Day.” The district is committed to providing quality educational programs where evidence supports student learning, and positive relationships are fostered.
Mrs. Spivey has served as the President of Valley Association of School Administrators (VASA). She is currently serving as the Oxford United Way Chair, a member of the Oxford Chamber of Commerce Leadership Committee, member of the Oxford Senior Citizens Board, member of the Oxford Kiwanis, the Buckeye Association of School Administrator President. Kelly serves on the BASA Executive Board, BASA Report Card Committee, and BASA Facilities Committee.
