Talawanda Middle School
Custodial Civil Service Test:
The Talawanda School District will hold an open competitive written examination to create an eligibility list for the position District Custodial Personnel on Wednesday, February 15, 4 p.m., at the Talawanda Middle School Media Center, 4030 Oxford-Reily Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056. A hands-on skills test will be given to the top scorers from the examination at a later date.
This position involves the ability to perform those duties associated with maintaining the daily cleanliness and maintenance of the building to which assigned.
Eighth grade students, Taonanyasha Banda, Sophia Bolda, Faria Ngorosha and Jean Pateman (not shown in the picture) submitted essays about the inspiring life of Martin Luther King after reading about him. Their literary art was displayed at the celebratory event at Shriver Center at Miami University on Monday, January 16. A panel of judges selected entries from every grade level. All students were recognized. Jean Pateman won a $20 gift certificate.
Talawanda High School is presently on precautionary lockdown. Oxford Police are on the scene. All students are safe, but being held in their classrooms. It is estimated that school dismissal will be delayed for an additional 45 minutes. Unfortunately, this will delay bus routes for TMS and the elementary schools as well. We will update families as soon as the lockdown has been lifted.
